10-Week Post-Op
I saw the doctor last week for my 10 week post op visit and he says that I have progressed very well, that I have to wear the brace until three months pass by, and I can work full-time starting July 5. When I don't wear my brace, I get really, really tired and sore. So I have to wean myself off the brace, like the doctor said. I have to continue wearing my electro-gadget until 9 months have passed. No sweat.
The biggest problem right now is that I think I am fine, so I go out and do all sorts of stuff, then I pay for it the next day. Even though I can't see my back, it is still healing and learning to work with all these new gadgets inside my body. So I have to take it easier than I have been.
Also, everyone I show my scar says it looks great, and you can barely see it from afar. It looks like the normal outline of my spine. Not that I care: my scar is proof that I lived through one very amazing surgery.
Ask me if I would do it again? In a heartbeat.

I am impressed with the process and with your strength in going through the process. I hope more people see that you would go through it in a hearbeat, indicating that the post-operation suffereing was worth the long-term improvement!
