Epidural Steroid Injections

I forgot to mention that before the surgery, I tried many, many things to rid myself of pain, and nothing worked. Except the first epidural steroid injection that I got. It was a godsend! My pain went away and stayed away for about three weeks. But then it came back. So after a couple months, I got a second ESI, and that didn't work so well. My last injection didn't work at all, which was a huge disappointment, as I thought all my prayers were answered when I got the first one.

I did everything I could to avoid surgery, but nothing helped. Surgery helped. I sat at a track meet yesterday for 5 hours, when my husband turned to me and said, "so how's your back?" The question caught me by surprise, because when I thought about it, my back felt fine, and there was no pain at all! I wanted to cry.

I love my doctor and think he should be promoted to sainthood along with the pope.

My wife is in the process of having the surgery now. She is at Rush, having done the first of two on Wed. and the 2nd this coming Wed. Dr Dewald is also her Dr. It was great to see how you have done and how you feel about Dr. Dewald and your outcome. It is very reassuring, Thanks

    Hi.

    I had a spinal fusion when I was 13 and I am now 27.

Your last post was in May and I'm just wondering how you've been doing the past couple of months?

I hope that you haven't posted because you're out enjoying your new back.

    Deya
